Was it true the Miles Davis family wanted you and nobody else for the role?
Right up until post production on the movie, we were still dealing with issues it never stopped. We were out beating the bushes trying to find independent money and that was a grind. Then the world broke and everybody’s money dried up and we were back to square one. W e had a home at HBO who had a relationship with Picturehouse and was going to release it theatrically there. Oh, there was every obstacle – the financing, casting, the timing. What was the key obstacle that you faced in getting the film made? Don Cheadle as Miles Davis in Miles Ahead
